Your First Step—a Cosmetic Consultation
The first step is to meet with Dr. Alegre and discuss what you would like changed with your smile. He’ll go over the different cosmetic procedures available and answer any questions you have.
In order to give you an appropriate treatment plan with your options, Dr. Alegre takes digital X-rays, intraoral and external photos and does an oral exam. He also wants to make sure that his patients have a healthy mouth before beginning any cosmetic work and will recommend any dental work that is needed.

Our Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures
Dr. Alegre will recommend procedures that he knows will get the best cosmetic results, and that will maintain the health of your teeth and gums.
Procedures he might recommend include:
Porcelain Crowns
Dr. Alegre uses high-quality, strong porcelain or crowns that have a very natural look to take care of badly stained or darkened teeth; misshapen or small teeth; gaps in teeth; or to correct issues with poorly spaced teeth.
He prefers to place crowns rather than porcelain veneers for these types of conditions. Veneers require quite a bit of preparation, including shaving down the front of the tooth, but do not have the sturdiness or the longevity of porcelain crowns.
Cosmetic Dental Bonding
Using composite material similar to white fillings, Dr. Alegre can fix minor issues such as chips, lines and cracks in the teeth. He can also use it to cover stains, close gaps and cover exposed roots.
Invisalign
Invisalign is an invisible way to straighten teeth that is similar to braces but without the uncomfortable wires. Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to correct a variety of problems, including crowded teeth, crooked teeth, spacing and poor bites. Dr. Alegre partners with an orthodontist so you can get professional teeth straightening.

Gum Recession Treatment
Dr. Alegre can cover up exposed roots with tooth-colored bonding material and remove sensitivity. He will first assess if the receding gums are due to active gum disease that needs treating. You can also opt to get gum grafting with our periodontist to permanently restore your gum line.
